DOSINA

Kanna

Other

A South African plant containing numerous psychoactive alkaloids, including mesembrine and mesembrenone. The first written account of the substance was in 1662. The pharmacology of these compounds is poorly understood, but they are suspected to be serotonin uptake inhibitors and potentially monoamine releasers. Said to suppress appetite, produce mild euphoria and reduce anxiety.

Harm reduction

  • This entry comes from the extended library: it is a less-studied substance with fewer independent sources.
  • Unknown potency is the main risk with novel substances — start with a fraction of any published figure and never re-dose before the full onset has passed.
  • Test with reagents and, where possible, a lab service. Fentanyl and nitazene contamination is not detectable by eye or by reagent alone.
  • Avoid using alone, and do not combine with other drugs while you are learning how a new substance affects you.
