Paracetamol
Supplement
A common painkiller and antipyretic. Not psychoactive. Included because accidental liver damage from overdose is common — especially when combined with alcohol.
Dose and effect data: PsychonautWiki (CC BY-SA 4.0) and TripSit (PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0). Not covered by PsychonautWiki — data comes from TripSit. Prescription or supplement entry — included for interaction checking, not as recreational dose guidance. Less-used substance: fewer independent sources, so treat these numbers with extra caution.

Expected effects
- Pain and fever relief (no psychoactive effect)
Possible side effects
- Liver damage in overdose - and the damage starts before any symptoms appear
- Dangerous with alcohol or when taken repeatedly above the labelled maximum
- Accidental overdose is common because it is combined with other medicines
Harm reduction
- Supplements are not risk-free. St John's Wort, 5-HTP, MAO-B and MAO-A inhibitors interact seriously with recreational drugs.
- Never take 5-HTP at the same time as MDMA or other serotonin releasers - the combination is implicated in serotonin syndrome. At most it is used in the days after, and even that is debated.
- Melatonin and L-theanine are sedating; that is fine for sleep but adds to depressant load if you have been drinking.
- Dose information here reflects general-use amounts from the sources, not an endorsement of using them in combination with other drugs.
