Dissociative

A popular dissociative drug which is an analogue of ketamine, though less sedating and more potent by weight, with a subjectively more 'complicated' set of effects.

Harm reduction

  • Dissociation removes your sense of where your body is. Sit or lie down in a safe, warm place, away from stairs, balconies, bathtubs, roads and open water.
  • Never mix dissociatives with alcohol, GHB/GBL, benzodiazepines or opioids - that combination causes respiratory depression and deaths.
  • Do not use alone, and do not use in a bathtub or swimming pool at any dose.
  • Start with a fraction of the dose you think you need. Control and coordination go before you notice they have gone.
  • Frequent use of ketamine and similar drugs causes real bladder and urinary tract damage; early warning signs are pain, frequency and blood in urine.
  • Tolerance builds quickly and does not fully reset, which is how people end up at doses that were never safe to begin with.
  • Have someone check on you every 15-20 minutes during the peak, especially if you are lying down.

Reagent tests show what a substance probably is, not how pure it is or what else is in the mix. Fentanyl and nitazene test strips are the only reliable check for those, and quantitative lab testing is better than both.

Mixing

ΑMTDangerous

See interaction notes for details.

AlcoholDangerous

There is a high risk of memory loss, vomiting and severe ataxia from this combination.

GHBDangerous

Both substances cause ataxia and bring a risk of vomiting and unconsciousness. If the individual falls unconscious while under the influence there is a severe risk of vomit aspiration if they are not placed in the recovery position.

OpioidsDangerous

This combination can potentiate the effects of the opioid

TramadolDangerous

See interaction notes for details.

MAOIsUnsafe

MAO-B inhibitors appear to increase the potency of MXE. MAO-A inhbitors have some negative reports associated with the combination but there isn't much information available

dextromethorphanUnsafe

There is a risk of serotonin syndrome when combining DXM with MXE, due to DXM and MXE both being SRI’s. MXE and DXM having notable affinities for the serotonin transporter.

DOxCaution

As an NMDA antagonist MXE potentiates DOx which can be unpleasantly intense
