About
What this app is
Dosina is a harm-reduction reference. It shows published dose ranges, timeline, expected effects, side effects, testing reactions and interaction warnings for commonly used psychoactive substances. Harm reduction does not tell people that using drugs is fine. It accepts that people do use them and tries to make that use less likely to kill or injure someone. That is why the interaction checker and the emergency tab are free of advertising and always one tap away.
What this app is not
- Not medical advice, and not a prescription tool.
- Not a vendor: Dosina contains no prices, no sources and no way to buy anything.
- Not a purity test. It cannot tell you what is in your substance.
- Not personalised to your health, your medication, your genes or your tolerance - beyond the inputs you provide.
How the dose numbers are calculated
Published ranges firstEvery level (threshold, light, common, strong, heavy) is taken from the source dataset for the specific route of administration. Nothing is invented or interpolated.
Where body weight is appliedWeight scaling is applied only to substances whose dose genuinely tracks body mass - MDMA, MDA, ketamine, GHB/GBL/1,4-BD, DXM. For those, the published 70 kg range is divided by 70 and multiplied by your weight, then capped at the substance’s published ceiling so that a heavier user is never told to exceed the maximum anyone should take. For LSD, psilocybin, THC, opioids, benzodiazepines and most others, weight is NOT applied. The ranges you see are population ranges, because individual sensitivity, tolerance and metabolism dominate by a wide margin.
AlcoholAlcohol is the one case where a real per-person formula exists, so we use it: Widmark’s equation, BAC% = (grams ethanol / (weight_kg x r x 1000)) x 100, minus 0.015 per hour of elimination, with r = 0.68 (male), 0.55 (female), 0.61 (unspecified).
What we do not doWe do not model tolerance, cross-tolerance, liver or kidney function, drug interactions on dose, or your individual genetics. Those are exactly the factors that make a "safe" number unsafe for a particular person, which is why every estimate here starts with the lowest plausible dose rather than a precise target.

Effect descriptions and harm-reduction guidanceWritten by the Dosina maintainer from the same public harm-reduction literature and reviewed against the machine-readable dose data.
Privacy
Dosina collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics and no server. Your biological sex, weight, experience level and medication flag are stored in this device’s local storage, are used only to compute the figures you see, and are deleted when you clear site data. The substance database is bundled with the app, so the library, the interaction checker and the emergency guidance all work offline, in airplane mode.
No prices, no vendors, no sourcing
Dosina deliberately contains no information about where to obtain any substance, no prices, no vendor names and no synthesis routes. That is a design decision as well as a store-policy requirement.
Credits
Dosina is educational harm-reduction information, not medical advice. Doses are population ranges from published sources and cannot account for your tolerance, health conditions or what is actually in your substance. Possession and use may be illegal where you live.
