Harm reduction
- Set and setting shape a psychedelic experience more than the dose does. Plan the room, the music, the company and the exit before you take anything.
- Have a sober person present, or at minimum someone who knows what you have taken and can be called.
- Do not redose to 'make it stronger'. Tolerance to psychedelics develops within an hour, so a redose mostly extends the experience and increases the risk of a difficult one.
- Avoid combinations with lithium (seizure risk) and tramadol, and be extremely careful with cannabis, which sharply intensifies the experience.
- People with a personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder should not use psychedelics - this is the clearest contraindication in the literature.
- Never drive, cycle or operate machinery, and do not take psychedelics in public places or around crowds you cannot leave.
- Physically: expect dilated pupils, raised heart rate and reduced appetite. These are normal. Chest pain, fainting or seizure activity is not - get help.
- Frequency matters: repeated use within days has sharply diminishing returns and increases the risk of persistent visual disturbances.
Identify what you have
Reagent tests show what a substance probably is, not how pure it is or what else is in the mix. Fentanyl and nitazene test strips are the only reliable check for those, and quantitative lab testing is better than both.
